A Cochrane Realtor Takes a Self-Care Day

Your Cochrane Realtor

Because even house-hunting superheroes need bubble baths and butter tarts.

Realtors are known for early-morning calls, late-night negotiations, and answering texts at lightning speed – but what happens when one brave Cochrane real estate agent decides to pause the hustle and take a self-care day?

Well… she plans it like a house showing, forgets to relax for the first 2 hours, then fully leans in (with snacks). Here's how a self-care day in Cochrane really goes:

7:30 AM – No Alarm, Just Sunshine and Kids Jumping on the Bed

Technically, I didn’t set an alarm. Realistically, I was woken up by a small human asking if we’re out of Nutella. But hey – no morning showings, no staging checklists, and coffee enjoyed while it’s still hot. That’s a win.

9:00 AM – Coffee + Croissant Therapy at Fence & Post or Breakfast at Sunny Side Up

Do you even live in Cochrane if you haven’t started your day with a latte from Fence & Post or Good Earth? I grab a flaky almond croissant, sip my coffee slowly (no open house crumbs in the car today), and resist replying to emails… for at least five whole minutes.

10:30 AM – Sweating Out the Stress at F45 Cochrane

Forget peaceful yoga flows – this Realtor’s self-care comes with burpees and battle ropes. I roll into F45, hair in a messy bun, praying today isn’t leg day. Spoiler: it is.

Forty-five minutes later, I’m red-faced, slightly trembling, and weirdly proud. Heart’s pumping, endorphins are high, and for once the only thing I’m negotiating is whether I’ll survive the next set of squat jumps.

And yes – I still check my phone between stations. Realtor habits die hard.

12:30 PM – Nails at The Haven Day Spa

Time to treat these “door-opening, paperwork-shuffling, sign-installing” hands. A fresh neutral manicure, a warm tea, and for the first time all week, I’m not wearing a blazer or carrying floorplans.

Bonus: someone else is doing the exfoliating for once.

2:00 PM – Lunch Date… with Myself

I head to Potpourri Bistro, Guy’s Café & Bakery or even turn it up a notch and head to Sakura Sushi & Grill. (yes, Potpourri is only a couple block from MacKay’s Ice Cream - don’t worry, we’re circling back). I sit, people-watch, and remind myself that enjoying lunch without negotiating possession dates isn’t illegal.

3:00 PM – River Walk + Rocky Mountain Therapy

The Bow River pathway is quiet, the mountains are showing off, and I finally exhale. I watch dogs living their best lives, remember why I love this town, and text only once with an update to my sellers with listings currently on the market.

4:00 PM – Ice Cream, Obviously

MacKay’s. No regrets. Maybe Tiger Tiger (hello 8 year old me!), maybe Haskap Berry Cheesecake, maybe both - it’s self care, not self control.

5:30 PM – Cozy Couch, Zero Guilt

Blanket. Fuzzy socks. Face mask that makes me look like a glazed donut. Netflix and absolutely no comparative market analyses in sight.

My phone pings - but this time, I don’t answer. (Okay, I do glance… but I don’t reply. Personal growth!)

HA! This sounded nice writing it but who are we kidding, the day ends just how it started – with two little kids jumping on me, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

The Truth? Cochrane Realtors Need Rest Too.

Taking a day to recharge doesn’t make us less dedicated – it keeps us sharp, patient, and ready to go the extra mile (or kilometre, this is Canada) for our clients.

So, if you see your favourite Cochrane Realtor strolling with ice cream or getting her nails done mid-week… don’t worry. She’ll be back tomorrow with coffee in hand, lockbox ready, and fresh energy to help you find home.
